The Civil Engineering (CE) is the most exciting as well as the oldest discipline of the engineering subjects. The brilliant civil engineering minds have produced intelligent materials and newer designs resulting to energy-efficient and environment friendly green buildings. Now-a-days stronger but lighter materials with better elastic properties have been developed by the civil engineers which help design tall and skyscrapers which can withstand strong wind speeds and high magnitude earthquakes. Now, we are to think about what are the limits of challenges which cannot be met by the civil engineers. Now the civil engineers worldwide are to build roads, bridges, towers, tunnels, ports, water supplies, irrigation and flood mitigation systems for a world which is more stable and safe. Infrastructure needed for modern society needs the civil engineers first. The civil engineering department of Prime University thrives to produce civil engineers who can be entrusted to build the type of challenging structures just mentioned above.

Objective

The objective of the bachelor of civil engineering program in Prime University will be to produce high quality civil engineers who will be excellent in the area of the construction of energy-efficient houses, bridges and other structures related to water resources, transportation, environmental management, and such many other areas.

Mission

The mission of the Civil Engineering program is to provide students with a broad and thorough education in Civil Engineering fundamentals, applications, and design that prepares them for the practice of civil engineering at the professional level with the confidence and skills necessary to meet the technical and social challenges of the future. The program provides a broad and thorough education in mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering mechanics, and civil engineering, coupled with application of modern engineering tools. Graduates will attain the skills for entry-level civil engineering positions leading to professional engineering registration, and will have a solid undergraduate foundation in general civil engineering principles, enabling continued education at advanced levels.

Vision

The civil engineering program will serve Prime University and the nation by providing a quality engineering education that enables students to enter a profession that can improve the civil infrastructure, and economic welfare. Our civil engineering program will maintain a strong emphasis on undergraduate education with the goal that our program will be recognized for quality instruction in civil engineering analysis and design. An important emphasis of the civil engineering program is preparation of students for professional engineering licensure and practice, and we expect that most of our students will pursue this objective following graduation.

 

Message from the Head of the Department

It is a great pleasure for me to inform that Prime University has opened the Department of Civil Engineering and has started curricular activities. The program is approved by Govt. and UGC. Civil Engineering is the oldest of all Engineering disciplines. Activities of Civil Engineering started from the beginning of civilization of the world. Construction and physical infrastructural developments are the products of Civil Engineering.
Prime University is committed to prepare the students to contribute in the field of infrastructure development. The University is well equipped with laboratory facilities and modern class rooms. Our first priority is to maintain quality of education and making graduates of Civil Engineering competent to take responsibility of developing the nation.

Admission Form

The students get chance to enroll in the university on credit transfer from any other recognized university from home and abroad. Maximum 50% of total credit of a program is accepted in the university upon recommendation of the equivalence committee of the respective department.
