On Friday 09.03.2018 Freshers Reception was held for the newly enrolled students of different Undergraduate and Graduate Programmes under Spring Semester- 2018 at the newly built permanent campus of the university at 114/116 Mazar Road, Mirpur-1, Dhaka.
The function was presided over by Prof Dr M Abdus Sobhan, Vice-Chancellor, Prime university. Mir Shahabuddin,Chairman Board of Trustees was present as Chief Guest. Md Ashraf Ali, Senior Vice Chairman, Nripen Maitra,Vice Chairman, Treasurer Md Arshad Ali, Registrar M A Jabber, Deans of different Faculties, Controller of Examinations, Heads, Faculties, Executives, Students of the University and Guests also were present in the function.
Registrar M A Jabber delivered welcome speech. In his speech he emphasized that there are tremendous prospects of quality higher education in the private sector and about huge future opportunities for training themselves as good professionals.
Mir Shahabuddin, Chairman, Board of Trustees delivered his speech for the newly enrolled students to study regularly and attentively to build up their own career. He felt encouraged at the construction of the new permanent campus and advised the freshers to take full advantage of the facilities by the university and reminded them to be conscious about the quality that they are entering the last phase of their 16 years of schooling before getting their first degree.
Prof Dr M Abdus Sobhan, Vice-Chancellor, Prime University highlighted education in the light of science and asked the students to develop themselves with a creative outlook as this is important for development and prosperity of a country.
During the programme Treasurer, Deans of different Faculties, Controller of Examinations of the University also welcomed the new-comers and guided the duties, moral and values they should follow to become worthy citizens of the nation. Heads of all Departments, Teachers, Directors, Executives, Student and Guest were also present at Freshers Reception program. They also emphasized the need to maintain academic atmosphere properly .
The academic and extra-curricular activities of the university were explained to the students. The course curricula, examination system, rules and regulations, class attendance, discipline etc. were highlighted to them also. Light refreshment was served in the respective department at the end of the orientation program. There was a colorful cultural show organized by Cultural Committee and participated by the students and teachers. |
