Freshers' Reception of Summer Semester-2018
On Friday, the 6 August, 2018, the Freshers Reception and EID Reunion Programme was held for the newly enrolled students of different Undergraduate and Graduate Programmes in "Summer Semester- 2018" at the newly built permanent campus of the university at 114/116, Mazar Road, Mirpur-1, Dhaka-1216.
The function was presided over by Prof Dr M Abdus Sobhan, Vice Chancellor, Prime University. Mir Shahabuddin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees(BOT) was present as the Chief Guest. Md Ashraf Ali, Senior Vice Chairman, BOT, Treasurer Prof Md Arshad Ali, Registrar Captain (Retd, BN) M A Jabber, Deans of Faculties, Controller of Examinations, Heads of Departments, Faculty members, Executives, newly enrolled students of the University and Guests were present in the function.
Captain (Retd) M A Jabber delivered the welcome speech. In his speech, he emphasized that there are tremendous prospects of quality higher education in the private sector and about the huge future and opportunities for training themselves as good professionals.
Mir Shahabuddin, Chairman, BOT delivered his speech for the newly enrolled students to study regularly and attentively to build up their own career. He felt encouraged to introduce Mr Mohammad Parvej (Ex Student of English Department, 29th Batch) who became a BCS Cadre (37th Admin) and advised the fresher's to take full advantage of the facilities of the university like him and reminded them to be conscious about the quality that they are entering the last phase of their 16 years of schooling before getting their first degree.
Prof Dr M Abdus Sobhan, Vice Chancellor, Prime University highlighted on the knowledge of education in the light of Science, Technology, Engineering, Business, Law and English. He emphasized that Bangladesh is aspired to be a digital nation by 2021. Bangladesh is establishing 20 hi-tech parks and industrial zones in the 12 districts, where hundreds and thousands of quality knowledge workers will be required in the noted areas. The students must develop themselves with a creative and innovative outlook for the development and prosperity of the country.
During the programme, Treasurer, Deans of different Faculties, Controller of Examinations also welcomed the new-comers and advised them about their duties, moral and values they should follow to become worthy citizens of the nation. Heads of Departments, Teachers, Directors, Executives, Student and Guest were also present in the Freshers' Reception program. They also emphasized the need to maintain an academic atmosphere properly.
The academic and extra-curricular activities of the university were explained to the students. The course curricula, examination system, rules and regulations, class attendance, discipline etc. were highlighted to them also.
A colorful cultural programme was organized by the Cultural Committee in which the students and teachers participated.
