Workshop on "Robi BDApps Developer Programs Held in Engineering Faculty"
A workshop on "Robi BDApps Developer Programs" was organized by Faculty of Engineering and SUAVE Logistic and Services Ltd on 6 December (Thursday) 2018 at the Conference Room of Prime University. Vice Chancellor of Prime University, Prof Dr M Abdus Sobhan was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Head of CSE Department, Prof Dr Jahangir Alam and Head of EEE Department, Md Mostak Ahmed were present there as the Special Guest. Moreover, Operation Manager of BDApps, S M Rifat Menon graced the program as the Special Guest while Prof Dr ASA Noor, Dean of Engineering Faculty chaired the session. In his welcome speech, S M Rifat Menon expressed his gratitude to the Prime University authority for giving his team the opportunity of conducting the workshop. Later, Md Mostak Ahmed explained the importance of Apps development and the future of such revolutionary tools for the career of Engineering graduates. Professor Jahangir, in his speech, expressed his satisfaction that students are getting involved in such activities that will give them immense opportunities to earn money and prepare for their livelihood. Prof Dr Sobhan revealed different possible applications of Smartphone apps and urged students to develop their interest in apps development addressing diverse social issues. Moreover, in the closing remark, Prof Noor, thanked the Robi Axiata Ltd and SUAVE Logistic & Services Ltd for coming forward as thier social responsibilities to train the young, potential students to become prolific programmers and developers. After the inauguration, workshop took place where a team from SUAVE Logistic and Services Ltd led by Senior Coordinator of BDApps, Shubhojit Ghosh demonstrated hands of experience of how to create mobile apps in short time and strategies for revenue generation. They explained that BDApps is a platform presented by Robi Axiata PLC to developers and content providers to use the Robi network based features via shared APIs and monetize their efforts. The platform allows developers to use features based on BDApps Pro, where the scripts to APIs are shared for them to create applications, whereas, BDApps Lite comprise of pre-loaded applications for a content provider. The BDApps Store presents the applications that are published for the benefit of the general public. This enables developers to showcase their talents and earn by creating apps. Around 110 students of Engineering Faculty participated in the workshop. At the concluding session, certificates and awards were distributed among successful participants.
