The 44th death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day-2019 was observed in Prime University
Prime University observed the 44th death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day-2019 with due solemnity on 26th August 2019 at the University Campus (114/116, Mazar Road, Mirpur-1, Dhaka-1216) and paid rich tributes to the memory of the greatest son of the soil Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Various programs including blood donation camp, doa-mahfil, discussion program and cultural program befitting to the event were chalked out in the Prime University Campus.
A doa-mahfil was held where prayer was offered for the eternal peace and salvation of the departed souls of Bangabnadhu, his family members and other martyrs who embraced shahadat on 15 August 1975.
The discussion program on the life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was presided by Mir Shahabuddin, Chairman, BOT, Prime University.
The Chief Guest of the program was Mohammad Rashidul Alam, War-wounded Valiant Freedom Fighter, Former Secretary to the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh & Member,
Advisory Council, Bangladesh Awami League who urged to convert sorrow into strength to fulfil Bangabandhu's dream by building a "Sonar Bangla" into reality. He briefly discussed the life
and deeds of Bangabandhu. The Special Guests of the program were Manzurul Alam, Freedom Fighter & Former ambassador; Md Ashraf Ali, Senior Vice Chairman, BOT, Prime University; K. M.
Farhad Hossain, Freedom Fighter; Md Ibrahim Hossain Khan, Former Secretary and General Secretary, Officers' Club, Dhaka; Parvin Zaman Kolpona, Member, Central Executive Committee,
Bangladesh Awami League also were present in the program and delivered their speech for the audience. The Chairperson of the program Mir Shahabuddin alerted the audience about the
conspiracy of the killers of Bangabandhu and the beneficiaries of the sad incident of 15th August 1975. He also urged the students to study and to learn from the life of Bangabandhu
to shape their life and to become a patriotic and worthy citizen of the nation. A cultural show with patriotic songs, dance and recitation was arranged by Prime University cultural committee and performed by the students.
Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Dean and Heads of the different departments, Faculty Members, Executives and students of the University were present on the occasion.
