Prime University Freshers' Reception Spring Semester-2019On Friday 8th March 2019 Freshers' Reception was held for the newly enrolled students of different Undergraduate and Graduate Programmes under "Spring Semester- 2019" at the permanent campus of the university at 114/116 Mazar Road, Mirpur-1, Dhaka.
The function was presided over by Mir Shahabuddin, Chairman, Board of Trustee, Prime University while Mohammad Rashidul Alam, War Wounded Valiant Freedom Fighter, Former Secretary to the Government of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh was present as Chief Guest. Md Ashraf Ali, Senior Vice Chairman, BOT was present as Special Guest. Treasurer Md Arshad Ali, Registrar M A Jabber, Deans of different Faculties, Controller of Examinations, Heads of Departments, Faculties, Executives, Students of the University and invited guests also were present in the function.
After recitation from Holy Quran, Registrar M A Jabber delivered welcome speech. Freedom Fighter Mohammad Rashidul Alam delivered his speech for the newly enrolled students. He said "We must always keep in mind that for the sake of many sacrifices we have achieved independence. Now we have to take responsibilities to build this independent country. So, we need to be well educated and patriotic. Prime University has given opportunities to achieve education. Students have to make use of these opportunities for the development of the country."
Mir Shahabuddin, Chairman, Board of Trustees delivered his speech for the newly enrolled students and encouraged them to study regularly and attentively to build up their own career. He advised the freshers to take full advantage of the facilities of the university and reminded them to be conscious about the quality that they are entering the last phase of their 16 years of schooling before getting their first degree.
Md Asharaf Ali, Senior Vice Chairman felt encouraged at the construction of the new permanent campus he wished, "Students will continue their academic study and other activities with due patience".
During the programme Treasurer, Deans of different Faculties, Controller of Examinations of the University also welcomed the new-comers and advised them about the duties, moral and values they should follow to become worthy citizens of the nation. Heads of all Departments, Teachers, Directors, Executives, Student and Guest were also present at Freshers' Reception program. They also emphasized the need to maintain academic atmosphere properly.
The academic and extra-curricular activities of the university were explained to the students. The course curricula, examination system, rules and regulations, class attendance, discipline etc. were highlighted to them also. Light refreshment was served in the respective department at the end of the orientation program. There was a colorful cultural show organized by Cultural Committee and participated by the students and faculties.
