Nababarsha, Bengali New Year 1426 was observed by Prime University Cultural Club in collaboration with Registrar Office. A vibrant cultural
program was arranged to celebrate the Bengali New Year 1426 on 15 April 2019 at the
Prime University Permanent Campus.
The function was presided over by Prof Mohammad Arshad Ali, Treasurer of Prime University while Mir Sahabuddin, Chairman, Board of
Trustees was present as Chief Guest. Md Ashraf Ali, Senior Vice Chairman was present as well. Among the others Nur Hossain Talukder,
Controller of Examinations and M A Jabber, Registrar, Deans and Heads of all Faculties also were present.
The program was attended by the Faculty Members, Administrative Executives and Students of the University.
Prime University has observed Pahela Baishakh program for the whole day. The inauguration of the program was at 10:00 AM.
The cultural program started with the tagores famous song Esho Hey Boishakh, Esho, Esho (Come O Boishakh Come).
As part of the celebration with traditional festive mood of Bangla New Year spontaneous participation and remarkable events were tremendously attracted by the audience.
The Students of Prime University from various faculties have participated in the Baishakhi Mela to sale different types of foods, beverages.
Besides there were various types of vendors in the Campus to sale the
Bengali traditional foods such as fuchka, malai, hawai mithai, velpuri, different types of achar (mango paste, plum paste, tamarind paste) etc.
A range of songs and dances were performed with great enthusiasm to demons rate the tradition and customs of New Year celebration in the Campus.
The objective of the program was to represent the enriched culture,
tradition and heritage through various forms of performance including song, dance and fashion show.
