Seminar on 'Constructive Roles of a Teacher in the Classroom' Held in Prime University
A seminar entitled, 'Constructive Roles of a Teacher in the Classroom' was organized by the Department of Education in collaboration with Centre for Research, HRD and Publications (CRHP), Prime University in the conference room no. 805 on 28 June 2019 at 10:00 am.
Mir Shahabuddin, Chairman, Board of Trustees graced the session as the Chief Guest and Prof Dr M A Wahab, Head, Department of Education chaired the seminar. Dr S M Hafizur Rahman, Professor, Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of Dhaka was the Keynote Speaker of the seminar. Treasurer, Registrar, Head of the Departments, Faculty Members and Students of BEd and MEd program were also present during the Seminar.
Md Ashrafuzzaman, Assistant Professor, Department of Education welcomed the guests and participants of the seminar. Nazia Tasnim, Adjunct Lecturer, Department of Education, introduced Dr S M Hafizur Rahman to the audience.
M A Jabbar, Registrar of the University emphasized on character building, etiquette and role of the teacher. Prof Md. Arshad Ali, Treasurer, identified teachers as the 'greatest philosophers of the society'. He also added that teacher should impart knowledge in the mind of the student so that they can contribute for the development of the country.
Mir Shahabuddin, Chairman, Board of Trustees mentioned that Education is the backbone of a Nation and teachers play the vital role in building good citizen enriched with moral values. He asked the teachers to perform their duties with sincerity and honesty. Finally he declared the inaugural of the session.
In the session, the keynote speaker presented the 'Constructive Roles of a Teacher in the Classroom' by discussing Human Development Index, classroom environment, curriculum, textbook, National Education Policy-2010, assessment and evaluation, importance of research and duties and responsibilities of teachers. The presentation of Dr Rahman came to an end with a very lively question answer session.
Prof Dr M A Wahab, Head, Department of Education and Chairperson of the seminar expressed his gratitude to the key note speaker, guests and participants for the delightful session. Finally, the seminar was concluded by a photo session and handing over the crest to the Speaker by honorable Chief Guest and the Chairperson.
